Snow accumulations starting at less than 2 inches in lower valleys, 2- 4 inches at elevations of 5500 feet, above 6000 feet expect 3-6 inches and above 8000 feet 5-6 inches of snow could fall. In the highest mountain peaks we expect up to 1 foot of snow to fall. Winds gusting out of NW between 40 and 50 mph in the valleys and up to 70 mph on mountain peaks. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute. The snow is expected to be wet, which could freeze on roads and bring down some tree branches. Blowing snow will be an additional hazard for travel. This advisory is for White Pine, Northwest Nye, Lander, Eureka, and Elko counties including the Ruby mountains and East Humboldt Range.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM this evening for Elko (including Ruby Mountains East Humboldt Range), Lander, Eureka, and Northeast Nye Counties. Valley wind gusts will range from 40 to 50 mph. Northeast Nye County and northeast Elko County could see wind gusts around 55 mph. High profile vehicles such as semis, trailers, motor homes, and towed vehicles will have a challenging to dangerous experience. In areas with rain, snow, or mixed precipitation, visibility will be impacted. In areas with snow, blowing snow will reduce visibility and possibly drift across roads..
