Persistent gusty southerly winds are expected to generate high waves along the Lake Michigan shoreline and nearshore waters today. This will create hazardous boating conditions for small craft and dangerous swimming conditions for beachgoers. Small Craft Advisories and Beach Hazards Statements have been issued and remain in effect until 5 PM today.
